Stamp set
Now would like to share the awesome Astronomy issue from Jersey. Look at the stamps carefully you will notice that there is special effect on the stamps. The stamps are printed in four colour process offset lithography plus embossed simili silver. Really nice set.
Information from Jersey Post:
On 10th February 2009, Jersey Post issue a set of stamps to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Galileo Galilei's first telescopic observatory. This set of stamps interprets PostEurop's theme for the Europa 2009 stamps issue - Astronomy - by featuring the satellites of Jupiter (which was just one of the galactic discoveries made by Galileo using a telescope) and various constellations which may be seen from Jersey at different times of the year. The stars within the constellations have been embossed and are highlighted in simili silver. The Europa logo will appear on two stamps only.
A short narrative by Sir Patrick Moore regarding Galileo and his telescopic discoveries appears on the First Day Cover envelope and Presentation Pack.
